Skill

In 2004 I received a Masters Degree in Science and Traditional Oriental medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in NYC. I am board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

Post-graduate studies included assisting my mentors, Frank Butler and Tom Bisio, in their respective acupuncture practices in musculoskeletal conditions and traumatic injuries. Additional studies included the full curriculum at Zheng Gu Tui Na including:  Zheng Gu Tui Na massage, mobilization techniques, orthopedic acupuncture, trauma medicine & Qi Gong for rehabilitation and injury prevention.   I have been certified by Sloan Kettering Hospital in NYC for acupuncture as a complimentary therapy for cancer patients.

Balance

From a seventy-year old Japanese practitioner who practiced from the age of seven under his uncle's tutelage, from a medical colleague in Italy, and from my American mentors, I learned that the holistic philosophy of Chinese medicine transcends cultural boundaries.

Furthermore, my Chinese medicine practice is inspired by memories of my great grandmother, who led a holistic life as a farmer, entrepreneur, caretaker, and community activist. I offer this point of view to my patients as a model of balanced, healthy living and aspire to achieve this kind of authenticity in my own life.

Touch

From my great grandmother, grandmother, and my father I learned to work with my hands. Touch is universal, whether it is touching a person in a healing modality or crafting objects by hand. In both instances, the effects are far-reaching and substantial.

In addition to my practice in Chinese medicine, I am a professional jewelry designer and metal smith with a M.O.M.A. design store license, where I have been selling for over seventeen years. Currently I am working on a new line of jewelry inspired by my studies in Chinese medicine, which I look forward to launching in the near future.
